• Lithium iron phosphate batteries have a 30% longer lifespan than lithium-ion batteries.
• The maximum decomposition temperature of lithium-ion battery cells is 700–800 degrees Celsius, preventing smoke and explosions.
• Lithium-ion batteries have better low-temperature resistance, while lithium iron phosphate is more resistant to high temperatures.

Compared to MPPT controllers, PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) is a simpler charging controller. The PWM controller uses very fast switches (multiple times per second) to control the current from the PV panel to battery charging. When the nominal voltage of the solar cell array matches the nominal voltage of the battery pack, the PWM controller works best.

The MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) controller uses conversion technology for charging. The MPPT controller does not require the solar panel and battery pack to have the same nominal voltage. It can convert high-voltage PV power sources into low-voltage battery-pack charging power sources. The efficiency of MPPT controllers can be 30% higher than PWM, but for small solar lighting systems, they are usually more expensive and unnecessary.
